"For FOCUS10, A WORD OF ART has been selected to present this exhibition of young artists that AWOA has been working with over the. The show consists of five original paintings together with a video installation of the making of the works. Artists: Senyol, Bison, Freddy Sam, Lenny, Black Koki and 351073."
Biography
Ricky Lee Gordon acts as a director, curator and artist. He has executed a range of projects for the likes of Adidas, Redbull, Nike, and the city of Cape Town, the Loerie Awards and most recently created and executed the marketing campaign for the Spier Contemporary 2010.
He is the founder of the two projects A WORD OF ART and WRITE ON AFRICA.
A WORD OF ART is an evolving story. Started in 2010, the space has organically taken shape with each project becoming a new chapter. A WORD OF ART aims to create inspiring art projects and experiences rather than white wall gallery shows.
Five years ago WRITE ON AFRICA was created, an initiative to promote graffiti art as a legitimate art form. It has now become an active 'not for profit' community art project. |
