Since we launched the second edition of FOCUS about two month ago we received a lot of feedback – thank you all for that! As a result of the various reactions we created two new sections in addition to FOCUSfair: FOCUSoff and FOCUSstage.

FOCUSfair accommodates galleries showing their program in Basel from 16th – 20th of June 2010. The fair is conceived for participants (galleries and individual artists) pursuing commercial goals in the art-thriven environment of Art Basel.

FOCUSoff is the non-commercial section of the project. It provides all artists who are not represented by a gallery a platform to show their work to an international audience and to connect with other artists, galleries and art professionals. The application is still open. You are all invited to hand in your proposals. Application deadline is January 15, 2010.

FOCUSstage provides a platform for performances, movies, concerts, lectures and other side-events. The aim of this section is to present different approaches to contemporary art from Africa and to reconsider the ongoing discussion in the environment of the world’s most important art fair.
